Age and Dose Restrictions

• This combination can be used in adults above 18 years of age.

Contraindications

• It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Acebrophylline and Acetylcysteine.

Medications to Avoid with This Drug

• Avoid taking antihypertensives, antigout medications (allopurinol), stomach acid reducers (cimetidine), antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, and doxycycline), antiarrhythmics (diltiazem and verapamil), corticosteroids (prednisolone and dexamethasone), diuretics (frusemide), vasodilators (glyceryl trinitrate), bradycardia medications (isoprenaline), oral contraceptives (ethinyl estradiol), anti-worm medication (thiabendazole). These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of Acebrophylline and Acetylcysteine.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdose can cause abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, and dizziness, which need to be managed as an emergency in a hospital setting. Therefore, strict adherence to the prescribed dose is essential.
• If you miss a dose of Acebrophylline and Acetylcysteine, take it as soon as you remember. But, if the next dose is near, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dosing regime.

Management of Side Effects

• T​​ake this combination with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects and continue taking it as prescribed. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• Acebrophylline + Acetylcysteine may cause dizziness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do other activities that require mental alertness or coordination until you know how this medication affects you. 

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• It is not recommended in pregnancy. Caution is advised in breastfeeding women.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in patients with a history of stomach or duodenal ulcer, acute myocardial infarction, hypotension, abnormal blood pressure, and irregular heartbeat and patients with kidney disease or liver disorder.

• Minimise exposure to allergens like dust mites, pet dander, pollen, or mold, which can trigger irritation and swelling. 
• Keep your living environment clean, and consider using air purifiers if necessary.
• Avoid exposure to smoke, strong odours, and chemical fumes, as they can irritate the airways and lead to swelling. 
• Avoid consuming chilled and refrigerated foods, which can act as a trigger for respiratory symptoms.
• If you're a smoker, quit smoking to manage COPD and bronchial asthma.
